Scarce DWM Model 1902 Blank Chamber Commercial Luger 9mm Semi-Automatic Pistol

Manufacturer: DWM
Model: 1902 Commercial
Type: Pistol
Gauge: 9 mm
Barrel: 4 inch round
Finish: blue
Grip: walnut
Stock:
Item Views: 1175
Item Interest: Average
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 230
Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

Manufactured for commercial sale with a "fat" profile 9mm barrel. The front of the frame bears the "GERMANY" import stamp found on DWM pistols brought into the States, but it does not have the "American Eagle" on the chamber, suggesting either a very early pistol intended for the American market or a handgun originally intended for European sale that was put on a west-bound ship due to high demand (as seen on the "Swiss Cross" Lugers). Blade front and notch rear sights, with a set of "crown/letter" proofs on the barrel, extension, breechblock and front toggle link, blank chamber, flat breechblock and a set of slide lock equipped dished toggles. A hold open device is installed, along with a set of straw colored small parts, niter blue pins and springs, a thin trigger, checkered grips, a grip safety and a nickel finished magazine marked "Cal. 9m/m".

Rating Definition:

Fine as restored showing 98% plus current blue finish, minor cycling wear on the toggles and frame ears, minor edge wear and scattered handling marks. The straw colors are bright. A small chip is absent from the left grip panel near the safety, with a few light dings on the otherwise sharp recut checkering of the undersized grip panels. Mechanically fine.
