Description:

Manufactured on contract for the Netherlands, many of these pistols would be used to arm the Dutch Navy and colonial forces between the World Wars. Fixed sights with a "1939" refurbish mark on the barrel, "crown/N" proofs on the barrel, extension, and breech block, and a conjoined "HLK" stamp on the right side of the chamber. The HLK mark is associated with pre-1928 colonial issue. The extractor is marked "GELADEN", with "RUST" over the safety lever and a brass panel with "H E" script initials on the left side of the frame. The replacement magazine is unnumbered, otherwise components are matching overall, including the grip panels.

Rating Definition:

Fine as arsenal refurbished, with 70% of the faded blue, showing bright edge wear, scattered handling marks, a few areas of gray and brown patina, and mild spotting. The brass plate appears to be a period, possibly arsenal replacement. 30% of the straw and niter blue color remains. The grips are also fine, with some dents and dark spots. Mechanically fine.
