This is a late production US Model 1903A4 sniper rifle that was produced by the Remington Arms company in late 1943. This was the standard U.S. sniper rifle as used during WWII, Korea and into Vietnam. This example was refurbished for Korea by the Rock Island Arsenal. The receiver is correctly stamped: "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" on the left side with the noted serial number on the right. The barrel is marked "R.A./flaming bomb/12-43" and was correctly assembled without the front sight. It is fitted with an original Redfield marked scope base which is fitted with an original WWII Weaver M73B1, 2.5X military sniper scope. The nomenclature plate is marked with the Weaver Scope Company and address and "M73B1". It is electric pencil etched on the side with "SERIAL No. 18857". It has the standard cross-hair reticle. The rifle is fitted with an original 1903A4 sniper rifle bolt with the "R" mark on the underside of the bolt handle. The rifle is fitted with the correct WWII stamped components, trigger guard, barrel bands sling swivels and buttplate. The rifle is fitted with a wartime C stock, stamped with the various sub-inspector proofs in front of the trigger guard a double, circled "P" proof in the pistol grip area with a boxed "RIA/EB" cartouche on the left side of the buttstock. It comes with an unmarked WWII type web sling and a set of the late black plastic lens covers.

Very fine with 85% plus of the arsenal refurbished light gray parkerized finish showing a patch of dark pitting on right forward receiver, only light edge and high spot wear. The markings are clear and sharp. The sanded, reoiled stock and handguard are in fine condition with only a couple very minor handling marks with clear distinct proofs marks, as also having been arsenal refurbished. The scope retains 98% of its blued finish overall with a clear sharp optics with the reticle intact.
