Mabson & Labron were Birmingham gunmakers until the dissolution of the partnership in 1835. The firm was previously Dunderdale, Mabson & Labron until around 1821. The lock is signed "MABSON & LABRON" at center under a burst pattern and has some engraving at the tail and lined borders. The barrel has Birmingham proofs on the upper left flat, a 1 3/8 inch muzzle opening, and an 11 inch folding "snap" bayonet with a release upper tang which is engraved. The brass furniture has primarily floral engraving, and the trigger guard finial is an acorn.

Fine with deep aged patina along most of the brass, niter blue and dark brown patina on the lock, distinct markings and engraving patterns, and minor marks and scratches. The stock is also fine and has attractive reddish hue to the finish and faint blemishes. Mechanically fine. This is an attractive example of a fine English Blunderbuss!
