Manufactured in 1913. Round blade front and round-top "U" notch rear sights, correct early Colt high polish commercial blue finish, two-line/two-block patent and address marking on the left side of the slide with the uncircled Rampant Colt behind the serrations, "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 45" on the right side below the ejection port, "GOVERNMENT MODEL" marking on the right side of the frame ahead of the slide catch hole, long smooth trigger, checkered slide catch and magazine release, wide checkered hammer, and short grip safety. The barrel and mainspring housing are replacements. Fitted with double diamond checkered grips and replacement full blue magazine. Includes custom hardwood case with wine colored velvet interior.

Very fine. 80% plus bright original high polish commercial blue finish remains with flaking and brown patina on the grip straps, moderate edge wear, and scattered spotting. The grips are also fine with some small dings and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is good with numerous scratches and dings on the exterior. A few correct replacement parts would greatly enhance this early production Colt Government Model!
