According to the included factory letter, this pistol was part of a 15-piece lot shipped to the Simmons Hardware Company of St. Louis, Missouri on August 19, 1922. Fixed sights, with the two-line, one-block address and patent dates on the left side of the slide, "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 45" and the Rampant Colt on the right, and a "GOVERNMENT MODEL" frame with long smooth trigger, wide hammer, short grip safety, flat mainspring housing, unmarked two-tone magazine, checkered grips with diamond screw escutcheons and a blued barrel with a polished hood, "V" and "P" marked ahead of the lug.

Excellent, with 90% plus of the original blue finish, showing mild edge wear, few light scratches around the front strap and slide stop, and a small amount of spotting. The grips are very fine, with some minor dents and verdigris buildup. Mechanically excellent.
