Description:

According to the included factory letter, this pistol was part of a 45-piece lot shipped to Sears, Roebuck & Company in Chicago on June 17, 1920. Aside from the traditional "Not Listed" grips, the letter verifies the key features. Blade front and flat top rear sights, with the two-line address and patent dates on the left side of the slide and the caliber markings and Rampant Colt on the right, with the Government Model markings on the right side of the frame and "W/VP" on the trigger guard. Overall finish is blue, with a bright polished chamber, checkered grips and an unmarked two-tone magazine. A reproduction black box is included, with a matching hand-marked number on the bottom, end labels, vintage Colt manual with fold-out internal section, and a 1938 model list.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 95% original blue finish, showing some light scratches, edge wear and handling marks. A number of scratches are concentrated below the slide catch. The grips are also excellent, with a few light dings and scuffs. The reproduction box and its contents show water damage, with some discoloration of the box and model list, and mild wear overall. Mechanically excellent.
