The post-1813 Birmingham proofed smoothbore, Damascus barrels are marked "LONDON" on the flat tops and have front sight studs. The standing breeches have notch rear sights and burst and floral engraving. The locks have additional burst and floral engraving and are also marked "WARRANTED" at their centers. The wrist escutcheons have "JP" in ornate script. The ramrod pipes and trigger guards are brass and have floral engraving. The stocks have finely checkered wrists with molded borders.

Very good plus. Strong brown finish and Damascus patterns remain on the barrel below the stock line, and the upper section has light pitting and mottled gray and brown patina. There are traces of original case colors on the breech and lock exterior and otherwise mostly dark patina. The interior of the lock is bright and has niter blue on some of the small components. The brass and German silver have aged patinas. The stock is very fine and has crisp checkering, smooth finish, and light scrapes and dings. Mechanically excellent.

The furniture has aged patinas. The stock is fine other than a repair on the front right of the forend and has crisp checkering, smooth finish, and minor scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
