Description:

Manufactured in 1910. Fixed sights, with the two-line, two-block patent dates and address on the left side of the slide ahead of the Rampant Colt, and the two-line caliber marking on the right. A strong and bright casehardened finish is present on the checkered spur hammer, with a vivid niter blue on the trigger, pins and screws and a deep royal blue on the slide catch. A lanyard staple is installed on the left side, with the grip panel shortened to match, a set of "crown/V" proofs are present on the left side slide and frame, "crown/GP" on the reverse side, and the chamber is marked with a set of tonnage markings and nitro proofs. "3479" is engraved on the front strap; consignor notes indicate this number engraving as Canadian in origin.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 60% plus of the original blue finish, showing a gray patina on the grip straps and the slide, bright edges, scattered light scratches and dents, and mild spotting. The otherwise very good grips have numerous dents and scratches. A small crack is forming at the bottom of the left panel, and a small hole in the center has been cleanly drilled out, with traces of adhesive inside the hole, suggesting a medallion or similar decoration was formerly there. Mechanically excellent.
