Description:

This is a very unusual Swiss 1906 Luger that has an unusual "E" prefix serial number. Collectors differ as to whether these "E" prefixes are prototypes or presentations. (Either way it adds up to being significant!) This Luger in all appearances is a typical 1906 military model that is marked with the Swiss "Cross in a Shield" on top of the chamber area and "DWM" marked on the front toggle. The right side of the barrel and barrel extension have the small Swiss Cross inspectors mark, and the underside of the barrel and front of the receiver are marked with the "873" serial number with the "E" letter prefix added to the serial numbers. The various other parts such as the trigger, breech bolt, toggle assembly, and side plate are numbered "73". The recoil lug and back side of each grip are numbered "873". The frame does not have the standard "P" stamp indicating release date from the Swiss Government. It is complete with two original unnumbered Swiss wood based magazines with the small nickel discs on the sides of the base.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 99% of the Swiss arsenal blue finish overall with only edge and high spot wear. The various small parts retain 98% of their attractive straw color overall with fading on the edges and high spots. The exceptional grips are also excellent with nice sharp distinct checkering overall with one minor pressure dent directly behind the magazine release button on the right side. An extraordinary "E" prefix Swiss DWM Model 1906 Luger.
