Manufactured in 1935 in a limited run of 579, the Republican Guard Contract Luger uses a 1906 pattern frame with a grip safety, smooth back strap and tapered pencil barrel. Fixed sights, the chamber stamped "GNR" (Guarde Nationale Republicanie) and the Mauser banner on the toggle. The left side of the barrel extension and underside of the barrel have small "crown/crown/U" firing proofs, and the pistol is numbered in the military manner. This model also has the extractor and lower safety area marked "CARREGADA" and "SEGURANCA" respectively. Straw finished small parts, niter blue pins and screws, checkered grips and nickel magazine with an unmarked alloy base. Comes with an unmarked black leather holster, "crown/letter" proofed dismantling tool, cleaning rod with oil container, and pin punch.

Very fine, with 70% plus of the original blue finish, showing a mixed brown patina and mild spotting on the grip straps, bright edge wear, scattered light spotting and some minor handling marks overall. The small parts are good, with about half of the original color, showing a brown/gray patina and mild spotting. The grips are good, with flat spot wear, some dings and dark spots. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fine with exceptional of the accessory side flap in two pieces and flex wear.
