Manufactured at the very beginning of the 3rd serial number block of 1940. Fixed sights, with "1940" on the chamber and "42" on the top of the toggle. Two "eagle/655" proofs and one "eagle/swastika" firing proof are marked on the right side of the receiver. A smaller "eagle/swastika" firing proof is on the right side of the barrel and left side of the breechblock. A smaller "eagle/655" proof is on the upper left side of the barrel. The upper safety position and extractor are marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. Finish is full blue, with checkered grips and a blue finished alloy base magazine. The grips are unnumbered, with "eagle/655" proofs and hand marking, including a date of "1/11/46" and "T.W. BALDWIN from N.S.P."; neither Baldwin nor "N.S.P." is identified by the consignor, though the timing suggests that "N.S.P." may have been the one who brought the item to America from Europe. Aside from the grips, numbers are matching overall, including the magazine. A black leather flap holster is included, marked "HANS ROMER/1940/NEU-ULM" and "WaA788" on the rear, and an "eagle/63" takedown tool.

Excellent, with 98% of the original blue finish, showing a small amount of edge wear and handling marks. The grips are also excellent, with a few minor dings and stains on the crisp checkering. The holster is also excellent, with some mild scuffs and cracking. Mechanically excellent.
