Description:

Manufactured early in 1943 before the introduction of the G43 rifle, the G41 was one of the only production model semi-automatic rifles to use the "gas trap" system as opposed to the gas port used on the G43 which has become the de-facto standard for gas-operated weaponry from World War II up through the modern day. Blade front and tangent rear sights, the model and manufacturer markings on the left side of the finely machined receiver, sheet metal dust cover, and a machined bolt carrier with a solid cocking knob, and a left side mounted bolt catch. Matching number are present on multiple components, including the magazine, trigger guard, bolt carrier, stock, and the external components of the gas system, and a matching hand-scribed number is present on the extractor. Fitted with a smooth pistol grip stock, with a contrasting resin handguard, brown leather sling and a cupped steel buttplate. Includes an Eickhorn bayonet, 15 inches overall, 9 3/4 inch blade, plastic grips, matching numbered sheath and a black leather frog.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing a mixed brown and gray patina on the gas hardware, bright edge wear and scattered spotting and handling marks. The stock is very fine, with mild scuffs concentrated on the handguard and some light scratches and dents overall. One trigger guard screw is missing. The leather frog is cracked and trained, the retention strap on the frog is starting to tear, and the bayonet has been cleaned and polished on the blade. Mechanically excellent.
