This is an excellent example of a DWM Model 1900 "American Eagle" commercial Luger pistol. These can be found in the 2000-19000 serial number range, with this specific pistol being produced towards the end of the production cycle. This model of Luger was intended for sales in the U.S., hence the "American Eagle" symbol over the chamber area. These early Lugers had a beautiful hand polished blue finish with straw colored small parts and were fitted with the early desirable Luger features such as: dished toggles with toggle lock on the right side, recessed breechblock, fast tapered barrel, grip safety and no stock lug and the DWM logo markings on the front toggle. It is correctly serial numbered in the commercial fashion with the full serial number under the barrel and on the front of the frame, which is also marked "GERMANY". It is complete with a tin plated magazine body with an unmarked wooden base.

Excellent with 98% of the original blue finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear. The various smaller parts retain 85% of their straw colors showing wear on the edges. The grips are in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering with a small pressure dent/flat spot on the right side behind the magazine release button with some minor wear on top of the checkering on the lower right side. Mechanically excellent.
