Fixed sights, with a "P.38 cyq" marked slide, "eagle/88" proofs, and matching numbers on the slide, frame, barrel and locking block. With a "jvd" magazine and dark ribbed grips.

Very fine, with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing patches of spotting on the right rear of the slide, bright edge wear, mild spotting and handling marks overall. Some rough spots or tool marks are present on the front left side of the slide. The grips are excellent, with a few light scratches. Mechanically excellent.

Manufactured in the 1940s, one of a limited number of P.38 pistols not destined for direct military or political issue. Standard fixed blade and notch sights, with the Walther banner, two line address and caliber markings, and "Mod P38" on the left side of the slide. A series of "eagle/N" commercial proofs are present, with a set of matching numbers on the slide (on top of the right rail, concealed by the barrel), frame, barrel and locking block. Grips are ribbed plastic, with a blued "P.38v" magazine.
