This is an attractive example of a 06/34 "Mauser Banner" Swiss contract Luger pistol, manufactured by Mauser as a commercial contract for Switzerland. This example has the short style barrel extension with the 1906 frame with coil spring and grip safety, fast taper barrel, first pattern polished lower safety area and no stock lug. It is estimated that 500 were manufactured in the 3500v-4000v serial number range for both the Swiss Government, as well as other foreign countries. They can be found with and without a crest over the chamber area; this example was manufactured with the Swiss "Cross in Starburst" crest. It has the standard "Mauser Banner" on the front toggle, with the Nazi-era "eagle/N" commercial proofmark. The full serial number with suffix is located on the front of the frame, the underside of the barrel, and on the alloy magazine base, the full number on the left side of the barrel extension, and the final two digits on various other parts. Fitted with straw colored small parts, niter blue pins, screws and springs, and checkered walnut grips.

Very fine as professionally restored/refinished, with 98% of the blue, showing some bright edge wear and mild handling marks. Bright straw colors are present on the takedown latch and safety, and vivid niter blue on the pins and sear spring. The grips are very good, with a few dings and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
