Description:

Manufactured by the Tokyo Arsenal from 1909 to 1928, the Baby Nambu was the semi-official officer's pistol of the Imperial Japanese Military. This particular example has a very low serial number, and was likely made within the first few years of production. Fixed sights, with the "stacked cannonball" arsenal marking on top of the chamber and the nomenclature markings and serial number on the right side of the frame. In terms of numbering, the firing pin is blank and the magazine is off by only a single digit, "548", otherwise components are matching overall, including the grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 80% plus original blue finish, showing some areas of brown patina, a small amount of pitting concentrated on the back strap, and light handling marks overall. A scratch is present on the left side of the frame, and the straw components have turned to gray. The grip are fine, with some chipping visible on top left panel. Mechanically excellent.
