Manufactured in 1941, the Robert Sears inspected Colts marked the transition point from Colt's high polish blue to the Parkerization treatment that would become the standard for the rest of the war. Blade and flat top notch sights, with the Rampant Colt bisected address and patents on the slide, "R.S." stamped frame (left side and top) with "T/VP" and "60" marked trigger guard, smooth long trigger, wide hammer, checkered arched mainspring housing, checkered Colt grips (unribbed, reinforced screw holes), unmarked full blue magazine and a "COLT 45 AUTO" barrel with a large "G" ahead of the lug. The replacement slide is numbered "727/417" off by only four digits and was most likely swapped during the period of use.

Fine, with 75% of the blue finish, showing bright edge wear, mild scratches under and around the slide stop, and a mixed gray patina in the grip region.
