JULY 2. 1872." on the left side of the frame, standard cylinder scene, matching visible serial numbers aside from the cylinder (89872), "705" on the loading gate, spurious "U.S.N./J.L.H." markings on the back strap, and varnished walnut grip. A collection marking is on the trigger guard bow.

Rating Definition:

Very good. There 30% of bright original case colors remaining on the frame and sides of the hammer as well traces of blue mixed with artificial brown on the barrel. The balance has a mix of gray and brown patina, mild pitting, and mild wear. Most of the markings are distinct. The revarnished grip is good with scattered dings and scratches and mild edge wear. Mechanically fine.
