This rifle was built in the Winchester Custom Shop and features a ramp blade front sight without a hood, three leaf express rear sight, and receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Hand engine turned bolt and follower with flat sided bolt sleeve, un-knurled bolt handle and hinged floor plate. The rifle has the standard two line Winchester address, model and caliber marking on the left side, with the factory and Custom Shop proofs stamped on top near the breech. The receiver, 1 3/4 inch breech barrel wedges, receiver, grip cap, floor plate and trigger guard feature a 70-5 engraving (a broad scroll engraving). Mounted on a semi-fancy satin polyurethane finished walnut pistol grip stock with standard Model 70 checkering on forearm and grip area, contrasting forearm end, cheekpiece, gold oval initial plate and Winchester red rubber recoil pad. Other features include two re-enforcing cross bolts, special full length action with loading clearance out, hand honed action, hand lead lapped barrel, inletted rear swivel base with barrel mounted front swivel base and (claw) controlled round feed extraction and ejection. Fitted with a Leupold Vari-X III 1.5-5x scope. The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, high luster blue finish, stock, engraving and the numerous special features (sling swivels are absent) as described above. Complete with the factory box numbered to the gun. Barrel has magna porting.

Excellent, with 99% plus original blue finish remaining with only the slightest handling marks. The stock is excellent with the exception of some light dings and scratches mostly on the left side of the forearm. The optics are good. The box is very good.
