Manufactured in 1970, this 30 Luger Lightweight Commander pistol traveled abroad to Germany, and was commercially proofed in 1972. While a good cartridge, featuring a high velocity and flat trajectory, 30 Luger was thoroughly eclipsed by its successors, the 9mm Parabellum and 7.62mm Tokarev. American-made 30 Luger handguns are few and far between. The majority of 30 Luger Commander pistols are believed to have been destined for the Italian market, and very few remained in or returned to the States. Fixed sights, with a steel slide, alloy frame, and "eagle/N" proofs on the slide, barrel and frame, and a "72" proof date shield on the slide. Fitted with a serrated trigger and mainspring housing, ring hammer, checkered medallion grips, and an appropriately marked full blue magazine. A "wood grain" box (hand numbered to match, but labeled for a Combat Commander) is included, as is a 1-page instruction sheet; further highlighting the scarcity, the instructions don't even include 30 Luger as a listed cartridge option.

Excellent, with 95% plus original blue/black finish, showing bright edge wear and light handling marks. The grips are in equal condition, with a few light dings. The box is good, with some mild wear and a few areas of tape damage. Mechanically excellent.
