Description:

This set has just about everything a gambling enthusiast might imagine, including a Colt revolver. The revolver was manufactured in 1860 and has a brass cone front sight, the two-line Hartford barrel address, standard cylinder scene and patent markings, and matching serial numbers (including the grip). The custom case is made from attractive burl wood. The upper section hold a variety of gaming related items as well as three glass containers with silvered lids. The compartment under the tray has been more recently fitted to the revolver and the cap tin, double sided eagle powder flask, lead balls, brass Colt patent bullet mold, and screwdriver. The button on the back edge of the case opens the lower drawer which hold a cased 1/9th plate tintype portrait of a rather posh looking gent, copy of "Hoyle's Games" (1866) with "Richmond" written inside the cover, late 19th century "WIZARD" card cheater clip, key, sprung shirt sleeve garters, cased pair of green tinted glasses, and "WILDER" Sheffield straight razor.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus with 20% original case colors, traces of original blue and silver, aged patina on the brass, mostly smooth brown patina on the balance, generally distinct markings, some minor pitting, and general mild wear. The grip is very good and has mild edge wear, some light scratches, and minor pressure marks. Mechanically fine. The 20th century custom modified case has some repairs and moderate overall wear including some chips and cracks. The other items range from fair to very good.
