Manufactured in 1870 as a third model with the serial number stamped in block numerals behind the trigger. The barrel has a blade front sight/bayonet lug, ladder rear sight graduated to 900 yards and the two-line Winchester address/King's patent legend. Sling swivels are attached to the underside of the middle barrel band and buttstock. The straight grip stock has a trapdoor brass crescent buttplate containing a four piece cleaning rod. Comes with a socket bayonet.

Rating Definition:

Very good. Traces of original blue finish remain on the barrel and magazine tube in the protected areas, otherwise a smooth dark brown patina. The lever catch is a period handmade installed replacement. The brass has an even patina with scattered dents visible on right rear, light period graffiti ahead on the right side plate. The wood is also very good with a chip at the lower tang and some minor-moderate dings and scratches. The bayonet is fair as pitted. Mechanically excellent.
