Manufactured in 1900 as a very desirable deluxe second model with the highly sought after casehardened frame. Dovetail blade front and elevation screw adjustable rear sights on a barrel stamped with the two-line address ahead of the rear sight and "22 SHORT" at the breech. The upper tang has the three-line model patent dates marking. The 12-groove forearm and checkered pistol grip stock are "XX" walnut. The buttstock has a hard rubber Winchester grip cap. The left side of the lower tang is stamped "9490 XX". The assembly number "9490" is repeated on the butt of the stock and buttplate. Based on research published in Ned Schwing's "Winchester Slide Action Rifles, Vol. I" only 895 Model 1890s in the 1 to 329999 serial number range were manufactured with deluxe pistol grip stocks.

Very fine, retaining 95% original blue finish on the barrel, magazine and bolt. The remaining surfaces retain 70% original case colors. The wood is very good with a hairline crack visible near the stock toe, minor dings and scratches and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
