Manufactured in 1902 as a third model with integral dust cover rail and serrations at the rear of the dust cover. Standard markings, blade front and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sights. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate and period brass tac decoration featuring geometric designs and an anchor on the left. The included factory letter confirms the 30 inch octagonal 32 caliber barrel as well as receipt at the warehouse on 3 April 1902 and shipment on 8 April 1902 in order number 137023. Included tag from the consignor notes that this rifle was used on a sealing ship out of Nova Scotia and that the tac decoration was done by sailors on that ship.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retains 30% original blue finish, mainly on the barrel, with the balance a mottled grey-brown patina, extensive moderate pitting mainly concentrated on the receiver, and a layer of varnish on the receiver. The wood is good as period refinished and embellished with some minor handling marks and a couple small chips in the edges near the receiver. Mechanically excellent.
