Description:

This is a brass paint stencil manufactured by Mason Die Sinker of New Haven, Connecticut. This stencil would have been used on 2,000 count crates of .44 Flat Rimfire cartridges to paint on labels. The stencil reads "WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK/2,000/.44 FLAT/Rim Fire" with the "WINCHESTER" letters approximately 7/8 inches tall and the Mason marking stamped in the upper left along with "102". The stencil itself is constructed of brass and is approximately 11 inches wide and 6 1/2 inches tall. An excellent decorative or utilitarian piece for the Winchester collector that has it all.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, showing mostly a bright antiqued brass patina with some scattered light verdigris, crisp edges to the stencil letters, and the other markings mostly clear.
