10,000 of these revolvers were manufactured in 1873-1880. It has a brass cone front sight, the two-line Hartford address on top of the barrel, standard stagecoach cylinder scene, the 1871 and 1872 patents on the left side of the frame, "36 CAL" on the left side of the trigger guard, high gloss varnish on the grip, non-matching wedge, and matching serial numbers on the barrel, cylinder pin, cylinder, grip (hand marked), frame, trigger guard, and back strap. "IP" is by the serial number on the latter three components.

Fine with 40% original blue finish, 50% original case colors, original silver plating in the concealed areas, aged patina on the exposed brass, smooth brown patina on most of the balance, tool marks on the sides of the hammer spur, light oxidation, and general mild wear. The grip is very fine and has mild edge wear, strong original varnish, and general scratches and marks. Mechanically excellent.
