The serial number dates to 1853 within the London range. The barrel has a brass post front sight, "-{ADDRESS COL. COLT/LONDON}-" on top, and London style proofs on the left. The frame has "COLT S/PATENT" on the left. The cylinder has the standard roll-scene and no visible proofs. The back strap mortise of the grip appears to have a four digit serial number. The other components have matching serial numbers, and an "x" is marked nearby most of the serial number markings. It comes with a hardwood case that also contains a cleaning rod, lead bullets, Colt patent dual cavity bullet old, Eley Bros. cap tin, and James Dixon & Sons powder flask with adjustable spout.

Rating Definition:

Good, dark artificial patina on most of the steel, lighter patina on the cylinder, aged patina on the brass, mild pitting, and moderate overall wear including fading of the markings. The refinished replacement grip is very good and has mild edge wear and a few scratches and dings. Mechanically fine. The case is very good and has mild storage wear, revarnished exterior, some replaced screws, and mild scratches and marks. The flask, mold, screwdriver, rod, and cap tin are all fine or better.
