Manufactured in 1898 as a third model with the dust cover rail integrally machined as part of the receiver and dust cover with rear serrations. The accompanying factory letter lists this rifle with an octagon barrel in desirable .22 short caliber and plain trigger when received in the warehouse on December 31, 1898 and shipped on January 20, 1899. Globe front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight, tang peep sight, standard Winchester markings, solid crescent buttplate and smooth forearm and straight grip stock.

Fine, retaining 60% original blue finish with smooth brown patina on the balance. 40% original case colors remain on the hammer. The wood is also fine with minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
