Description:

Manufactured by the Moore's Patent Firearms Co. and National Firearms Co. from 1864 to 1870. It features about 25% coverage floral scroll engraving, lacks the typical address of either company, and the cylinder is marked with the standard D. William's one-line patent date. The grips and grip frame have the partial matching number "92". Includes what appears to be an original Moore's Patent Firearms Co. box that has been period relabeled to the National Firearms Co. using a closely color matched strip of cardboard.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 85% plus original blue and silver finishes with the silver showing an attractive antique patina. The balance is a mottled grey-brown patina and a few scattered patches of surface oxidation. The grips are also very fine with a few minor dings and some fading. Mechanically needs work as cylinder does not rotate when cocked. The box is good as period altered with moderate wear/fading and some tearing.
