These later versions of the Mass. Arms Co. Maynard Primed Pocket Revolvers were manufactured after the expiration of Samuel Colt's patent in 1857, with only around 1,500-2,000 manufactured in a few variations before production stopped around 1860. It has the standard Mass. Arms and Maynard markings as well as 25% coverage floral scroll engraving and floral/naval/arms themed etching on the cylinder. "231" is marked under the primer door on the frame, the back of the door, right side of the grip strap, and "249" is on the bottom of the top strap.

Fine overall, retains about 50% original blue finish and faint traces of original case colors in sheltered areas with the balance a brown-grey patina. The fine grips have minor handling marks throughout and retain most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent.
