Only around 3,000 of these single shot pistols were manufactured c. 1861-1864 by the Rollin White Arms Co. of Lowell, Mass. It has a rounded blade front sight, integral notch rear sight, "199" on the bottom of the barrel and butt, "ROLLIN WHITE ARMS CO./LOWELL, MASS./PATENTED APR. 13. 1858" on the left side of the breechblock which tips to the right for reloading, and smooth rosewood grips. Included is a very scarce factory box with direction label.

Fine with 40% original blue finish 95% original silver plating, smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, minor marks and scratches and general minor wear. The grips are fine and have a small chip at the toe on the right, light scratches, some slight varnish loss, and minor handling wear. Mechanically fine. The box is good and has missing end flaps, moderate edge wear including some splitting, and some flaking. Provenance: Dr. Gerald Klaz collection.
