This incredible 20th or 21st century pistol was clearly crafted by one or more incredible artisans as an homage to the 16th century Wheel Lock by Hans Schomann exhibited in the Wallace Collection. One barrel has an "VG/.[star]." maker's mark, and the other has an "AK maker's mark. There is also a conjoined "AK" inlay in the stock by the tail of one of the locks. The makers have not been identified. The barrels are finely shaped and have raised rings, round recesses and flutes, copper inlays, and attractively shaped breeches. The locks are equally finely made and have filework, inlaid designs, rotating catches, and engraved faces on the pan covers. The stocks have extensive inlays in the shapes of animals, foliage, people, and mythical creatures such as dragons and mermaids.

Very fine/near new with minimal handling and storage marks. It is presumably mechanically excellent but has not been tested.
