Exceptional, ornate gold frame measures 24 by 31 1/2 inches. Paper label on the back of the frame in Italian with two red ink stamps. The label states that the painting is of the Bridge of Rialto and an exclusive of the Marco Polo Glass Gallery and Studio. The painting is decorated entirely by hand in gold leaf and enamels on a glass slab following ancient handcraft techniques. The glass slab is approximately 12 1/2 by 20 inches mounted on a burgundy damask covered wooden back piece. The scene is of ten figures in costumes in front of the Bridge of Rialto. The majority of the painting is done in gold leaf but the figures' costumes are in brilliant jewel tones with white highlights. The sky is done in a vivid cobalt blue adding depth to the background. The gold leaf is done with meticulous detail down to the little details in the architecture of the bridge and surrounding structures.
