Jean-Baptiste Lamotte (1782 - 1856). See Heer Der Neue Stockel page 676. The pistols have cannon form barrels with the first stages finely chiseled with high-relief panoplies of Ottoman arms on gilt granular grounds, a reeded molding transition to the second stage depicting crescent moon and stars, and a silver front sight surrounded by fire and lightning bolts in two colors of gold. The rounded lock plates are inscribed "J.B.LaMotte/Aine/a' St. Etienne" and have some gilt embellishments. The ebonized stocks are inlaid with silver wire decorations and have relief carving surrounding barrel tang, repousse silver mounts embellished with depictions of weapons and Islamic motifs, large pieces with French export silver marks (many indistinct, though a few clearly marked as JC).

Very fine with expected wear to carving surrounding barrel tang, stocks probably cleaned at early date, silver mounts with dents, some cracking (especially on pistol’s butt-cap) and other deformations, one ramrod a later replacement.
