Manufactured in 1938. Blade front and square notch rear sights, with the two-line, one-block Colt address and patent dates on the left side of the matching serialized slide and "COLT/SUPER .38/AUTOMATIC" near the ejector port. The trigger guard is marked "P/VP" on the left and "60" on the right, and both the slide and frame are outfitted with the Swartz firing pin safety mechanism. Checkered wide hammer, milled short trigger, slide stop, thumb safety and mainspring housing, long grip safety, checkered grips, two-tone Super 38 magazine, and a "COLT SUPER 38 AUTO" marked barrel with a polished chamber hood.

Excellent, with 97% of the original blue finish, showing some light edge wear, mild handling marks, and a few small areas of spotting. The serial number is lightly struck, but writer believes to be a factory error. The grips are fine, with some dents and flat spots, concentrated on the right panel. Mechanically excellent.
