This is an outstanding example of a Factory Engraved Model 11D shotgun produced in the Remington Custom Shop, the Peerless Grade was hand-fitted by expert gunsmiths for maximum performance and reliability, and finished with fine, tasteful scroll engraving. Single nickel bead sight on the vent rib, with the two line address and patent markings on the left side of the barrel and a 1 3/4 inch scroll engraved wedge on either side of the breech. The model marking and serial number are hand engraved on the underside, with scrollwork on the sides, top and bottom, zig-zag and punch-dot borders on the sides and lower edges, and light starburst and cross accents. Both included barrels are numbered to match the receiver and fitted with vent ribs and 2 3/4 inch chambers, one 28 inches long and marked for improved modified choke, the other 26 inches with cylinder choke. Included with the set is a "mutton leg" takedown case, internally configured for the receiver and barrels as well as an included set of cleaning gear, marked "F.H. ROBERTS/HOUSTON, TEXAS" on the side.

Excellent, with 95% plus original blue finish, showing some light wear and handling marks overall, including on the second barrel. The stock is very fine, showing some scuffing/crushing of the recoil pad and some scattered light dings. The grip cap shows evidence of two plugged holes, suggesting that a panel was once installed there and then later removed. The case is good, with signs of field repair; the original closure strap is absent, and a hinged latch is installed in its place. Mechanically excellent.
