Description:

Manufactured from 1911 to 1917. The receiver features factory engraved scrollwork and a double wavy line border. The left side of the receiver features an oval panel game scene depicting four ducks taking flight from a marsh, and the bolt is engraved with two pigeons in flight. There is a floral design engraved around the serial number on the underside of the receiver. It is known that Alden George Ulrich apprenticed under his father Conrad at age 17 and engraved for Marlin from 1905 to 1919. The barrel is marked "M" for modified choke. The forearm is checkered, and the pistol grip stock is plain and fitted with a serrated buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very, retaining 90% original blue finish on the receiver with the barrel and magazine tube being refinished with high edge and cycling wear and thinning on the balance. The engraving is crisp. The wood is very good with a cracked forearm, minor handling marks, most of the revarnished finish remaining on the buttstock and crisp forearm checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
