The firm of Hans and Helmut Zehner operated in post-war Frankfurt, catering mostly to stationed U.S. service members and hunters. Vent rib barrel fitted with a Cutt's compensator, "FC" marked Lyman choke tube, dual steel bead sights, standard barrel markings, and 2 3/4 inch chamber. The barrel is stamped with a "KYY" (May 1952) date code and "AE3" factory work code. The receiver features finely executed, full coverage engraving consisting of flowing foliate and scroll surrounding Germanic style panel game scenes of a pointer and three pheasants on the right and a fox and duck scene on the left. The right side is marked "H.&H. ZEHNER - FRANKFURT /M." with standard markings on the left side. Checkered semi-beavertail forearm with fancy scroll carved borders and matching pistol grip stock with serrated Remington buttplate with spacer. Length of pull is 13 5/8 inches.

Very fine as professionally embellished and refinished with 95% of the current deep blue finish remaining, light handling marks, and well defined engraving. The wood is fine with well defined checkering, small dings and bruises, and some areas of worn scroll carving. Mechanically excellent.
