Description:

A redesign of the Model 1905, this particular Model 1908 comes with an attribution; a previous owner included a series of labels and plaques stating this pistol was acquired from the family of a Captain W.E. Steel-Gretton, who was presented the cased pistol by the company in appreciation for his assistance in the development of the Model 1908. Fixed sights and three-line London & Birmingham address and caliber markings on the left side of the slide ahead of the Webley & Scott "winged bullet" logo. Fitted with a serrated hammer and safety switch, full blue magazine and checkered grips. With an hardwood case, decorated on the lid with a heraldic design of a cockatrice holding a severed hand in the beak, blue felt lined interior, oiler, screwdriver, cleaning rod and extra magazine. Information on Steel-Gretton (possibly William Ernest Steel-Gretton, born c.1880, married 1910, deceased 1972) is limited.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 75% of the original blue finish, showing some areas of brown patina, bright edge wear and mild spotting and handling marks overall. The grips are fine, with some mild dings. The case is very good, with some mild scuffs and wear. Mechanically excellent.
