Description:

The "Webley Government" revolvers were popular sidearms among British officers in the late 19th century and early 20th century. This one was manufactured around 1889 to the early 1890s and has the distinctive "steeple" shaped cylinder flutes seen on the early revolvers, standard blade and notch sights, "S.W. SILVER & Co 29 OLD BOND ST & 67 CORNHILL, LONDON" on top of the barrel, "476" on the left at the breech, "'WG' MODEL 1889" on the left side of the top strap, the Webley patent marking and winged bullet trademark on the left side of the frame, "3583" on the right side of the frame, "583" and "97" on the back of the cylinder, "2366" on the left side of the front strap, checkered hard rubber grips, a lanyard loop on the butt, and a brown leather holster.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 95% original nickel plating, minor flaking concentrated on the grip straps, dark brown patina on the flaked areas, and general minor scratches and marks. The grips are fine and have an aged faded brown color, distinct checkering, and a few scrapes and dings. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good and has numerous minor scratches and marks.
