Manufactured in 1947. Blue Winchester Proof steel barrel with solid rib, single bead sight, standard markings, chambers marked at 2 3/4 inches, "SKEET" marked choke, and Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The barrel has wedges of light scroll engraving at the breech and a pigeon engraved on the collar. The receiver features finely engraved hunting dog and game bird scenes of a pointer and two quail on the right and a pointer and three Grouse on the left. The dogs and birds are rendered in gold inlay with scroll gold wire inlaid borders and fine leafy scroll and cross hatched patterns on the balance. The bolt carrier and lifter are jewelled. Nicely figured diamond pattern checkered extension forearm and pistol grip stock with hard rubber Winchester grip cap, and checkered Winchester buttplate. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2/12 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Very fine as professionally embellished with 99% high quality refinished blue, distinct markings, areas of some plum coloration on the barrel and receiver, sharp engraving, and fine gold inlays. The upgraded replacement wood is also very fine with crisp checkering, attractive grain and figure, and a few small dings and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
