Manufactured in 1968 and subsequently master embellished to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fabrique Nationale as a faithful recreation of the Centenary FN. Single bead sight on the matte vent rib, standard markings and Belgian proofs on the barrels, 2 3/4 inch chambers, and full/full marked chokes. The high level of embellishment begins at the breech end of the barrels with fine leafy engraving on the wings and light gold wire inlaid scroll at the breech. The receiver and false side plates are fully engraved with highly detailed broad leafy scroll work, fine gold wire inlaid borders, and sharp bulino engraved hunting scenes on the added false side plates depicting a father/son quail hunt on a farmstead on the right and a father/son marsh duck hunting scene on the left. The underside of the receiver and barrel lugs are engraved with an equally impressive father/son/grandson pheasant hunting scene. Each scene is bordered with decorative gold wire inlaid scroll. The top of the receiver and break lever are marked "1889 CENTENARY 1989" in gold inlay and a gold inlaid FN logo. The trigger guard is engraved to match and inscribed "One/of/One". The trigger plate is signed "CAPECE" for Belgian Master Engraver Rocco Capece. Single selective trigger and tang mounted safety/selector switch. Finely checkered three-piece forearm with engraved and gold inlaid fittings and highly figured round knob pistol grip stock with sculpted tear drop accents, beaded borders around the checkering, and skip-line checkered bare butt. With Browning Naugahyde takedown case and copies of an article about the original 1990 SHOT Show Centenary Edition. Bore and stock measurements (U/O): chambers marked and measured at 3 inches; bores 9 inches from the breech measuring at .622/.622; chokes measured .028/.028; minimum wall thickness .040/.037; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/4 inches; length of pull 14 1/2 inches; weight 6 lbs. 6 oz.

Exceptionally fine as highly embellished by FN Master Engraver Rocco Capece with 99% of the blue finish on the barrels, sharp engraving, complete gold inlays, and superb detail. The wood is also exceptionally fine with crisp checkering, some small dings, and bold, highly attractive figure. The forend wood is slightly loose on one side. Mechanically excellent. Case is very good with storage marks.
