The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, finish, stock, and January 22, 1971 date of shipment to Lt. D.W. Fraizer of the U.S.S. Francis Scott Key Rifle and Gun Club, as part of a two-gun shipment. The Francis Scott Key was a Benjamin Franklin class ballistic missile submarine commissioned in December 1966, and serving until decommissioned September 2, 1993. D.W. Fraizer has been identified as a medical officer serving on Gold Crew, sometime during the 1970s. Standard birdcage flash hider, post front sight and bayonet lug on the gas block, ventilated triangular handguard, A1 pattern upper with fixed carry handle, no casing deflector, and no forward assist. Standard markings on the lower receiver with a checkered grip, and fixed buttstock without the checkered trapdoor buttplate. The rifle includes a Colt AR-15 3x Sporter Rifle Scope with the original box, and the original rifle box with two magazines, sling, cleaning rod and papers.

Near new in box with only light handling marks overall. The box is good with corner and edge wear, some old packing tape, and mild peeling. Scope is as new with little evidence of being mounted. Scope box is very good with corner and edge wear.
