Manufactured from 1911 to 1923 in 20 gauge. This example features elaborate period engraving of fine quality. The receiver features profuse engraved floral scrollwork surrounding oval panel scenes depicting a pointer on the left side and a woodcock on the right side with "Marlin Arms Corporation" engraved underneath. The top of the receiver has an engraved initial shield. The scrollwork extends to the trigger guard which is signed by engraver S.J. Large. The slide bar has engraved wavy line matting, and the barrel has wavy line non-glare matting. Mounted with nicely figured and multi-point checkered forearm and straight grip stock. The buttstock is fitted with a hard rubber serrated buttplate.

Very fine as period embellished, retaining 60% of the blue finish with smooth gray patina on the balance. The engraving is crisp. The wood is fine with some mild wear in the recut checkering and minor handling evidence. Mechanically excellent.
