Description:

The Model 1819 Hall was the first widely issued military breech loading firearm and the first firearm manufactured with totally interchangeable parts. This one is dated "1831" and has been converted to percussion. It has the standard off-set sights and "J.H. HALL/H. FERRY/US/1831" on the breechblock.

Rating Definition:

Fine as arsenal converted with a blend of brown finish and patina, strong niter blue/heat blue on the covered areas of the breechblock, minor oxidation, and general mild dings and scratches. The stock is also fine and has dark oiled finish, general scattered minor scrapes and small dents, and no indications of a cartouche. Mechanically fine.
