A very large Navajo style rug showing many characteristics of those made in the Ganado and Klagetoh regions including the typical black, grey, white, and red color scheme. It displays the typical geometric patterns of these woven pieces of art as well as smaller rectangular insets of different color schemes and patterns which appear to be displaying weaving styles from other regions. Rugs like this one have been an integral part of the Navajo economy since the late 18th century and continue to be highly desirable to this day. This rug measures approximately 130 inches by 82 inches, with the nine smaller insets measuring approximately 21 1/2 inches by 13 inches.
