Manufactured in 1900. Blade front and replacement 1896 pattern rear sight graduated from "3" to "6" on the left side and "7" to "18" on the polished face, standard markings on the oil-quenched casehardened receiver, blue finished barrel, and barrel bands, nitre blue extractor, and bright bolt with knurled cocking piece. Smooth straight grip stock with grasping grooves, "46" and circled script "P" behind the trigger guard, boxed "JSA/1900" inspection cartouche on the left side of the wrist, and smooth, blue steel trapdoor buttplate.

Very fine with 90% plus original blue finish, 98% original bright nitre blue on the extractor, and 95% original dark, oil-quenched casehardened finish on the receiver and magazine. Scattered small surface scratches, minor edge wear, and some traces of light spotting overall. The reoiled stock is also very fine with crisp cartouche and proofs and scattered small dings. Mechanically excellent.
