Description:

Manufactured in 1901. Blade front sight, "C" marked folding ladder rear sight, knurled cocking piece, pronounced hump handguard, "JSA/1901" cartouche, script "P" behind the trigger guard, and smooth, blue steel trapdoor buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 60% original blue with cold blue touch up visible around front sight. 40% oil-quenched casehardened finish remaining on the receiver, mottled gray/brown patina on the magazine door with some light spotting and surface pitting, handling marks overall, and refinished extractor. The stock is also fine with crisp cartouche and proof, a few small dings and dents, light chipping around the buttplate, and light pitting on the heel of the plate. Mechanically excellent.
