Manufactured in 1902. Blade front and folding ladder rear sight graduated from "1" to "4" on the left side and "4" to "20" on the polished face, standard markings on the oil-quenched receiver, blue finished barrel and barrel bands, nitre blue extractor, and bright bolt with knurled cocking piece. Smooth straight grip stock with grasping grooves, "50" and circled script "P" behind the trigger guard, boxed "JSA/1902" inspection cartouche on the left side of the wrist, black leather sling and a smooth, blue steel trapdoor buttplate. Included with the rifle is a slip-on brass muzzle protector, a cloth receiver case, and a 1901 dated Krag bayonet, 16 1/4 inches overall with a 11 5/8 inch bright steel blade, ribbed wood grips, and a blued steel sheath with suspension hook for a cartridge belt.

Excellent, with 95% plus original blue finish, showing some light edge wear and storage marks. A small amount of spotting and rubbing is present on the extractor, which otherwise retains much of the bright, fiery niter blue finish. Some splitting of the grain is visible on the right side of the buttstock, with the wood otherwise in excellent condition, showing some light dings and handling marks. The bayonet is very fine showing a mixed brown and gray patina on the hilt and 98% bluing on the sheath. Mechanically excellent.
